Hello Kitty Set

I took this pattern off :

Tawana's Cute Crochet

She has a sweet blog and takes request, visit her blog some time.

Hello kitty headband is easily changed in size. This size is for a toddler - kid (she's about to be 5 in Aug. It fits her a little loose and it's stretchy). 

Materials:

-G/6-4.25mm crochet hook

-Tapestry needle

-Red heart super saver yarn in white, pink and scrap yellow and black.

Optional:

-1 yd fabric to line purse

-sewing needle and thread (or sewing machine)

-1 button for purse

Headband:

w/white ch 71,(chain more or less to change size) sl st to 1st ch to form ring (do not twist)

rnd1-6:   ch 2, hdc in same st as join and each st around, sl st to 1st hdc

*attach pink*

rnd7:   rep rnd 1

rnd8:   ch 1, turn, crab st around. 

FO and weave in ends---flip inside out (this is now RS)

Ears: (2)

make magic ring, ch 2 and 6 hdc in ring, join to 1st hdc

rnd1:   ch 2, hdc inc in same as join, hdc *hdc inc, hdc* rep around, join to 1st hdc

rnd2:   ch 2 *hdc inc, hdc* rep around, join 1st hdc

rnd3-5:   ch 2, hdc around

FO leaving long tail for sewing---flip inside out (this is now RS)

sew ears onto front of headband (use picture above as guide)

Eyes: (2)

w/black

 ch 4 sc in 2nd ch and across 

FO leave long tail to sew

Nose:

w/yellow

ch 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook and nxt st, 3sc last st (on opp side) sc nxt 3, inc last st. join to 1st sc

FO leave ong tail to sew

Bow:

w/pink ch 28, join to 1st chain to form ring (do not twist)

rnd1-3:    ch 2, hdc in join and around. join to 1st hdc

FO and weave in

fold bow in half long ways. Wrap a long strand of yarn around center of bow and knot in back (leaving tail to sew) sew into place

Sew on eyes and nose and embroider whiskers.

Purse Front/back: (2)

ch 17

row1:    hdc in 3rd ch from hook and nxt 13 sts, 3 hdc in last ch (on opp side) hdc nxt 13, 3 hdc in last st. Join to 1st hdc

row2:    ch 2, inc in same as join, hdc nxt 12, inc *hdc, inc* rep once, hdc nxt 12 *inc, hdc* rep once. join to 1st hdc

row3:   ch 2, hdc in same st, hdc, inc, hdc nxt 12, inc *hdc nxt 2, inc* rep once, hdc nxt 14, inc, hdc nxt 3, inc. join to 1st hdc

row4:   ch 2, hdc in same st, hdc nxt 3,inc, hdc nxt ,inc *hdc nxt 13, inc* rep once, hdc nxt 14 ,inc, hdc nxt3 , inc. join to 1st hdc

row5:   ch 2, hdc in same st, hdc nxt 3,inc, hdc nxt 14 ,inc *hdc nxt 4, inc* rep once, hdc nxt 15,inc, hdc nxt 4, inc. join to 1st hdc

row6:   ch 2, hdc in same st, hdc nxt 4,inc, hdc nxt 15 ,inc *hdc nxt 5, inc* rep once,(for back hdc nxt 16) for front hdc nxt 7, ch 2, skip 2, hdc nxt 7(buttonhole) ,inc, hdc nxt 5 , inc. join to 1st hdc

row7:  ch 2, hdc in same st, hdc nxt 5,inc, hdc nxt 16,inc *hdc nxt 6, inc* rep once, hdc nxt 17,inc, hdc nxt 6, inc. join to 1st hdc

side facing yo is RS ----FO and weave

Gusset:

w/pink ch 8

rnd1:   hdc in 3rd ch from hook and across

rnd2-34:   ch 2, turn, hdc across

ears: (2)

make MR, ch2 6hdc in ring, join to 1st hdc

rnd1:   ch2 *inc, hdc* rep around. join to 1st hdc

rnd2:   ch2 *inc, hdc nxt 2* rep around. join to 1st hdc

rnd3:   ch2 *inc, hdc nxt 3* rep around. join to 1st hdc

rnd4:   ch2 *inc, hdc nxt 4* rep around. join to 1st hdc

FO leav long tail for sewing---flip inside out (this is RS now)

eyes: (4)

 w/black ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook and nxt 3, sl st in last st

FO leve tail for sewing

nose: (2)

w/yellow make MR, ch1, 8sc in ring. join to 1st sc 

FO leave long tail for sewing

Bow:

ch 20sl st to form ring (do not twist)

rnd1-2: ch 2, hdc same st and around. joni to 1st hdc

FO and weave in---flip inside out (RS)  finish of making bow the same as in the headband

Strap:

make 3 chains of 70 (start w/long tail to sew on atleast 1) and FO 

on end of 3rd ch DO NOT FO!  

ch 1 more then sc into l=the last st if each of 3 ropes

ch 1, turn , sc across

FO leave long tail to sew

--Braid 3 strands tog and knot at end

-Attach nose, eyes, ears, bow, and embroider face to both pieces. (Ears go in back only)

-Pin gusset onto back w/RS facing you. Attach ink on outer right corner and Crab st gusset to purse. (rep with front

-Fold both sides of gusset and purse and sl st down 1 inch

-attach button and line inside of purse w/fabric of your choice
