hCG Side Effects

When you are pregnant or body uses your fat reserves to feed your baby. Stored up fat gets broken down faster with the hCG diet. It tricks your body to believe that you need more energy, your body responds by breaking up fat to give you energy.

hCG has been approved by the FDA to be used fertility treatment for woman who battle to concieve, but the FDA has not apporoved it for dieting purposes. The hCG diet has a lot of side effects such as headaches, leg cramps, thinning of hair, blood clots and depression, these are just a few of the symptoms. If this is not bad enough it can also cause  OHSS, OHSS is a  potentially life-threatening condition. The ovaries get over-stimulated, swell and leak fluid into the abdomen which can lead into electrolyte imbalances, blood clots and kidney failure.

A women needs  about 1,800 to 2,400 calories per day providing she is not exercising for 2 hours. So if your body is only using 500 calories you are under nourished, this can also lead to a vitamin defeceincy. Some of the symptoms are fatigue and nausea. Like all diets this is not a 'miracle weight loss cure', and yes he drops cause your body to tap into your fat reserves allowing your body to 'feed' itself the appropriate amount of calories it needs to function, but the vitamins and nutrients your body needs is left out. You could use a multi-vitamin and vitamin B12 while on this diet.

I just wanted to inform people what they are getting into so that they know the risks they will be taking if they go on this diet. There are a lot of people out there that says it works, and a lot of people who have suffered bad side effects. Now that you know the truth you can decide for yourself what to do.
